Who am I?

Hi Everyone!

My name is Ciara (pronounced like Keir-ah) and I'm a RPN in Toronto, Canada! 

I decided one day enough is enough. I grabbed my sewing machine, googled “How to make a scrub caps”, found an online fabric seller.  The response was great! I thought hmmm could I be on to something? Is this something that others in the scrub wearing community are looking for??

The pandemic had brought many in the healthcare environment to wear scrub caps for protection and personally I found it really helpful to tame my hair with all the PPE and face shield action

The idea of including some personality and colour to my scrub outfit really began to brighten my day (and others). I found that the scrub caps I made to be a conversation starter during report and my patients loved them! 

We always see boring scrub caps with plain colours and no real WOW factor to them and blah fabric that looks dull.  I thought this was odd since the face is the most important aspect to healthcare workers and it’s where our patients look to for an encouraging smile during uncertain times in their life.

I love to sew & helping nursing students & new grads with nursing content.  I run two instagrams (@nursingschoolsecrets &@notyouraveragescrubcaps)
